Messianic Prophecies:

WHO IS HE? “God with Us”

1. He will be born of a virgin, begotten of the Holy Spirit (7:14, Matt. 2:18-20).
2. A Descendant of Jesse, and from the Davidic Kingly line (11:1, 10).
3. The Chosen Servant in Whom God delights (42:1)
4. The Light to the Gentiles (42:6; 49:6).
5. The King of Israel (44:6)
6. The Redeemer, the Lord of Hosts, the First and the Last, the One True God

What Will He Be Like?

1. He will be empowered by the Holy Spirit (11:2; 42:1)
2. Healer of the blind, deaf, and lame (35:5-6)
3. Gentle toward the weak (42:3).
4. Steadfast and not disheartened or crushed until He has established justice (42:6)
5. Obedient to the Lord in His mission (50:4–9).
6. Voluntarily submit to suffering (50:6; 53:7–8).
7. Will bind up the broken-hearted (62:1)
8. Will bring good news to the afflicted, and proclaim liberty and freedom to captives and prisoners (62:1-2)

What Will Happen to HIM?

1. He will be rejected by His Own People; Israel (53:1, 3).
2. He will be despised and forsaken (53:3)
3. He will be scourged for our healing (53:5)
4. He will be pierced, crushed chastened for our peace (53:5)
5. He will take on the sins of the world (53:4–6).
6. He will be like a lamb led to the slaughter (53:7)
7. He will be put to grief and crushed by the Father (53:11)
8. He will render Himself a guilt offering (53:11)
9. He will be numbered with the transgressors (53:12)

What Will He Accomplish?

1. He will establish a new covenant (42:6; 49:8–9).
2. He will manifest God’s glory (49:3).
3. He will spiritually redeem and restore God’s people back to God (49:5)
4. He will be worshiped by the Gentiles (52:15).
5. He will triumph over sin and death (53:10).
6. He will bear our sins, and will justify many (53:11)
7. He will establish salvation and be exalted (52:13).

What will He accomplish (Future)?

1. He will govern the world (9:6).
2. He will judge in righteousness, justice, and faithfulness (42:1–4).
3. He will reign forever on David’s throne (9:7).
4. He will be exalted for establishing salvation for sinners (52:13).
5. He will come to comfort Israel and to bring vengeance on the wicked (61:1–3).
